Terrible safety feature and useless manufacturer not honoring their warranty

This product was purchased for an elderly woman who weighs 125 pounds. We had the previous version for over 3 years which has worn out in the rubber over time so I ordered a new one. The Carex Dual-Level Textured Grip bath rod didn't stay in my tub and after three months of tightening the new product I called the manufacturer to say the rubber grip didn't work. They refused to help me (I would be happy if they sent me new rubber pads to replace the ones on the product) and insisted that I…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Does not work on sloping tubs. Only thing this is good for is when you need to get rid of your father in law and want it to look like a slip and fall. Just install and wait. Given the poor design, it won't last long. I wouldn't trust this to support a 40kg child let alone an adult. If you are looking for something for swim safety, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. PVC pipes fastened with liquid nails are more reliable. I have worked in construction and carpentry so this is not a case of user error…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Difficult to see

I had to use spacers in the tank to keep it in place. When I look at my bathtub it looks like it goes straight down but gently curved. This is not a very good design. I was able to get it to work with pads (popsicles) but it's not perfect. I don't really believe in any of this. I don't know of any tubs with a square rim on the top rail. Maybe more expensive baths, I don't know! A good solution for the company could be to add rubber pads to the curves of the tub. I think the rubber pads are…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Needed for hotel rooms

I've used it for the first time since buying it. There was an initial problem. (because my husband didn't notice the escape from the box at home, the instructions and the small wrench that came with it) (he found them in the driveway after we got home from the hotel) O.oSo are the wrench and the guide less in our room. He struggled to fix it using just the universal item "Leather Man" he has on hand, but eventually figured it out and installed it. TO OUR mutual relief. He became disabled from…

Difficult to install on tub walls of uneven thickness

Before ordering, there are three important things to check: how strong your tub is, how even the inner wall is in relation to the outer wall and the wall thickness. It took a long time. Modifications (and vulgarities) to make it work on my bath. If I had time I would send it back. However, I needed it ASAP for my mother-in-law. First, the clamp is very strong and puts a lot of pressure on the tub wall. We have a one piece fiberglass shower and tub which is not as durable as the others. The…
