All three connectors have a red wire to the plug and a black wire to the socket. This is true at one end, but not at the other; When I connect it to my motorcycle's SAE power cable, which has a negative pin on the pin, the incoming polarity is correct and the outgoing polarity is reversed. I don't care about my heated jacket and air compressor, but polarity is very important for my USB charger. You can use polarity inverters to fix this; I ended up cutting, soldering and heat shrinking the cables to get them right. If that doesn't matter in your application, then the cable is well made and of good quality. Just note that if it matters (e.g. on a vehicle an open positive contact can short to ground) you will also need to invest in polarity reversers.
