Marvel-based 10Gb switches like D'LINK. It seems you can always support 7-8 Gbps in and around 2.5-2.8 Gbps out. I figured before changing NICs or switches I'd try that now since 10Gbase-T SFP adapters are reasonable. Well it worked, now I can support 10.5-11.1 Gbps both ways. This matches what I get when I connect the Intel x550 and x540 directly to 10GBase-T with a 25ft CAT7 cable. It's much easier than destroying infrastructure! I have used Poleax 10GB SFP 10GB SR transceivers extensively and they have proven to be reliable. Of course, it's nice if you just plug and forget, and the data crunches on!
