My old garage door switch is a thing of the past and I had to open and close it the old fashioned way by connecting two wires together. I have not been able to find an identical replacement at our local hardware stores or online. I had to put on a thinker's hat and come up with this simple but effective alternative thanks to this switch. The switch is "normally open" which is ideal for a garage door circuit that only needs momentary power to open or close a sliding door.
