This package was only received a few hours ago, below are the temperature readings with this metal case. In this case I have a Raspi 4B, it's a well built product, fits snugly, the top cover with extensions directly touches the chipsets, except for the wireless (WIFI) IC, don't know why that one is ignored! It also heats up. The Pi4 drives 4k@30 over HDMI with two USB devices connected, it draws 5.167V, 0.855A, which is 4.217W. After 30 minutes of operation, I measured 99.6 F (99.6 F) with the thermal sensor on top of the case and 110.8 F (110.8 F) with the sensor inside the case. The body is warm but palpable. Overall, that metal body really helps keep the operating temperature down. I plan to use this system as a NAS, use 1G ETH for the router and work separately. According to these measurements, no fan is required, fewer failures!
