Best Raspberry Pi case I've found (and I've bought a lot)

I chose this for a Raspberry Pi to act as a moOde music server with an external USB DAC. I wanted cooling, but I'm not a fan of fans and certainly not a server running 24/7 in my listening room. This case is very well designed and made. It matches with satisfactory accuracy, and it feels like I can drive my diesel pickup and get an undamaged Raspberry Pi 4. As for cooling, no matter how I work with the Raspberry Pi 4 in this case, it doesn't. come close to throttling. The only addition that…

A good case that will hold the Pi securely

I have been looking for a case where the Raspberry Pi4 environment is very dusty. This case is well made and fits the Pi4 very well. The only downside is that my Pi4 runs at around 40C after warming up the case running a small web server and a few python scripts. It's not hot, but when testing other cases with a fan on the top with the exact same load on the system, the Pi4 runs at around 31C. All cases with fans on the top expose the GPIO and POE pins, which is not good for dusty places. It's…

Nice case Electronics

I wanted to test the heat as some people said this case gets very hot. So I ran this in 5 different CPU loads with my 4GB RPi4 and touched the case to see how the temp felt (very scientific). At first it was essentially the OS idle (Ubuntu) and the case felt slightly warm, just above ambient. It got a little warmer when using mostly one core, but I wouldn't call it hot. The two most used cores were slightly warmer, but still not very hot. Using three cores felt like a very hot shower, a bit…

Very durable case, helps reduce operating temperature

This package was only received a few hours ago, below are the temperature readings with this metal case. In this case I have a Raspi 4B, it's a well built product, fits snugly, the top cover with extensions directly touches the chipsets, except for the wireless (WIFI) IC, don't know why that one is ignored! It also heats up. The Pi4 drives 4k@30 over HDMI with two USB devices connected, it draws 5.167V, 0.855A, which is 4.217W. After 30 minutes of operation, I measured 99.6 F (99.6 F) with the…

It's getting really hot

Bought for a Pi 4b (4GB) to use the pi hole ad blocker. It's about the lightest load you can give the Pi. I even went as far as overclocking the CPU as I don't need factory speeds just for the pi hole. Even after that, this puppy will keep you warm. We're talking about 50°C - enough for the Pi-Hole server to issue a warning with every login. I ended up putting a 140mm fan next to it, which brought the temperature down to around 32C, which is much better and the system no longer gives any…

Keeps my RPi 4 cool enough.

I am using RPi 4 8G RAM for my desktop. I don't like any kind of noise as it affects my developer concentration. This case does not have a fan as it uses passive cooling. This system is absolutely silent. When using this case, my RPi typically runs in the 48-55 degree Celsius range. It has to do with web browsing and Python development. I have two monitors. I have USB WiFi to increase bandwidth. And I boot and work from an SSD (Samsung T5), I don't even have an SD card. I also keep it on all…

Works very well: Single board computer

INTRODUCTION -------- Idle temperature reduced from 68°C to 44°C. I haven't done any stress testing or overclocking and don't intend to, just wanted it to run cool. PROS ------ Very high performance for a case with passive cooling. Has 4 pins that contact SOC, RAM module, USB controller and power controller. CONS------- No 5th pin to contact the network controller chip (can be fixed with a small heatsink) MINDCLOSE----------------------- ----After doing some research, including looking at…
