Review on πŸ”¬ Aries Outlets 3.5x 420mm Working Distance Surgical Binocular Loupes with LED Head Light Lamp+Aluminum Box - Black (Optical Glass) by Cathy Blount

Cheaply made, uncomfortable to use (especially in the shape mine came in)

Thing is really cheap. The socket you plug the battery charging cable into is broken, you have to plug it in at a weird angle that shouldn't be in order to charge it. In addition, there are two areas that they present for adjusting focus and pupil size, but there is also one area that they don't. This is the angle of each individual lens. I had one lens looking at a 90 degree angle to the other so you MUST adjust it. Even after looking through it, I found that the working depth of field is about 2.5cm. So if you move the subject forward or backward just a little, it will be out of focus. I bought them to paint very fine details on things and couldn't get the depth of field right. I kept the brush either too close or too far from the subject, which could be caused by the orientation of the lens. Also felt it was quite heavy on my head, being pulled forward, feeling tired eyes and discomfort in ears after a short use. Let's get back to that and look for another form of vision enhancement for this work.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • flimsy
