I used this PCI-E cable to connect an external port on my XPS 16 laptop . I wanted to add an external WiFi extender, and this PCI-E cable did a great job. I found an open spot to run a PCI-E cable through, drilled a hole in the side of the laptop, screwed in the connector (it comes with a screw nut, routed a wire to the Centrino WiFi card's main antenna and snapped it in a Now I have an external amplifier WiFi and 5 strips compared to what I could barely connect before.
