Review on 🔌 Metra USB Retention Harness for HYKIA Vehicles by Thasapon Bowers

I have a 2013 Kia Optima with Pioneer App Radio 4 installed. I ordered this harness to restore my factory USB. USB won't let me play music on my iPhone 6 with the standard 1m Apple Lightning cable, but it will charge. I tried connecting with a 3" Kero-Key cable and music played (no CarPlay). I contacted Metra and they told me that the factory USB in many cars is not very good and it is best to just use flash drives (however the connector is marked "iPod" as intended, but I confirmed, that the flash drive is working). . They said the distance might be too great. The length of the Metra cable is 36 inches. It can really work if Metra only makes the cable 15 inches long, which is all the length I need in my car. Very disappointing as I wanted to activate Apple CarPlay with this kit. It works great when I plug it directly into my Pioneer USB - extension cable, but it can't be done through Metra.
