one for two in Shocks, Struts & Suspension

This review reflects more on the seller than on the product itself. As an avid weekend mechanic, I seek to rebuild or repair every part of my vehicles with quality, precisely engineered replacement parts. . In fact, I'm a proponent of having the best. My suspension choices were and are Monroe and Moog. Which brings me to this riddle. When I opened and inspected my FIRST package I was delighted to find exactly what I wanted; clean, new Monroe damper. That's how I installed it. "Easy enough." I thought to myself as I was about to ship my second shock build, which is where this story takes a turn. Second, I took this piece of shit, I want to be wrong, the part I realized was that it was completely different. The weight, size, appearance and markings on the tubes were COMPLETELY different than my first quality Monroe part. I mean. This thing has an "OESpectrum" sticker over what originally said on the non-brand label. So I don't even know what brand she started her life under. Also, the damn thing looks used, with rust spots near the mounting points and a paint job that my two-year-old would do better. Very disappointing, especially considering the packaging of this particular product was tampered with before it was placed in the shipping carton. Much speculation remains as to why this might have happened. I sincerely hope that this seller will try to solve this problem in a timely manner, as my pickup truck that I use for work currently only has one shock absorber installed. I will write a review before this bug is fixed.
