I wanted to change the door knob on the bathroom door to a locking knob., and change the color to black. This is a well made door knob. It was really easy to install - took me maybe 5 minutes. The lock works smoothly. I hit it multiple times with the screwdriver while installing but I didn't notice any scratches so the finish is very good. There's a safety function on the outside of the door, so if someone accidentally locks themselves in the room (like kids), you can open it from the outside, with the special tool (safety key) that comes with the door knob (you could probably use a flat screwdriver also - I didn't test that). I did test the lock and accompanying key several times to make sure it worked. It's a bargain at the current price of $16. I recommend it.
