Thermostat reads 92F but actual temperature is 76F - see photo and I also checked with an old glass thermometer to be sure. I only noticed it when summer came and the temperature in the aquarium rose much higher than room temperature. I thought maybe the heater was stuck, but no, the thermostat is defective. Now we're wondering if that ever worked and the poor fish froze at 57F all winter and the thermostat reads 73F. Say the fault was something else. The fish would be cooked! And of course it's too late to bring it back.
