Will not work for aquarium heaters and coolers

We have a small 5 gallon aquarium. The heater was installed and set to 78 degrees as instructed. He cycled continuously from 69 to 81 and back to 69 in 30 second increments. Never turned on.

Works great in a 3.5 gallon betta tank

It's hard to find a good, reliable and accurate heater for a small aquarium. This is amazing as it is a combination of a tank heater and a thermometer. digital display of the temperature in a tank and on the remote control. This controller makes it easy to set your desired temperature and the heater itself is quite small so it fits in nicely. Controls temperature within +/- 0.2F, which is fine. Small tanks are of course more volatile than large ones. Try it, it's a very innovative design and…

Works but temp differs by 6°

I used this to heat a hydroponics tank and found it was 6° overheating the tank. I tested with two other thermometers and an Atlas Scientific temperature probe. When this heater said my tank was 68°F, it was actually 74°F. Now I set this thing to its lowest temp (64°F) so it will maintain a 70°F temperature in the tank. Looks like I'd hook it up to a power relay controlled by my Raspberry Pi and let it maintain the temperature instead of relying on that heater to control the temperature.

Warmed up my aquarium enough to cook my fish!

For some reason I didn't read the reviews. Both heaters I purchased from this seller have failed and both tanks have reached uninhabitable temperatures. However, the temperature readings showed only 71 degrees. What a huge divorce! I can't return them because too much time has passed. a few months? At first they were good, but they almost welded two tanks from it to ruin. My fish turned white so I put my finger in the aquarium. It was warmer in there than my pool in the middle of summer in…

Easy installation of aquarium heaters and coolers

Easy heater installation. Simply place in the aquarium, wait a few minutes for it to acclimate, plug in and set the desired temperature. The remote control is very handy, the button can be tricky as you are not 100% sure you have pressed it so you have to take your time as I had to switch between them a few times as I always get the right temperature was missing. The cord seems heavy for a small heater, includes a 3 pin connector which is a nice safety feature. My first device was defective and

The thermostat failed after 6 months or maybe never worked.

Thermostat reads 92F but actual temperature is 76F - see photo and I also checked with an old glass thermometer to be sure. I only noticed it when summer came and the temperature in the aquarium rose much higher than room temperature. I thought maybe the heater was stuck, but no, the thermostat is defective. Now we're wondering if that ever worked and the poor fish froze at 57F all winter and the thermostat reads 73F. Say the fault was something else. The fish would be cooked! And of course…

Easy to use and read.

I bought this product for my 10 gallon quarantine tank. It works for me because of the large dual display and its accuracy/thermostat is about +/- one degree Fahrenheit. The temperature is fully controlled by the external part of the thermostat. Thus, it is easy to raise and lower the temperature in one operation. The only part that gave me a bit of concern was the cage surrounding the heating element. I have a few small fish that will squeeze between the cage and the heating coil if they want…

Stopped working after a month.

In short, luckily my betta didn't freeze. I used a 50 watt heater for my 3.5 gallon pool. In the beginning it worked very well! I was impressed and would probably even give 4 or 5 stars. I liked how accurately it keeps the temperature, that it's possible to change the temperature, and the built-in thermostat seemed handy (it worked for me for exactly 3-4 weeks). Although the glowing temperature gauges on the screen in the water could almost double as a night light for the room. Not being able…
