works perfectly. Just a note >> they tell you.

works great. Just a note >> They inform you about installing a pre-filter before the pump. The fuel tank has a side window. I couldn't find an easy way to hook up the in-line filter without cutting the OEM stainless steel fuel lines. I will not disassemble my car to install a filter. I'm gonna pump this pump till she throws up. I will be purchasing an aftermarket BOSCH pump (which turned out to be OEM for this year's Ford Motorcraft as the OEM pump carries a Bosch part number) for about the same price as this aftermarket pump as an OEM Bosch. The pump does not include additional instructions for installing a pre-filter. It seems that adding a pre-filter requirement is a common way to void the warranty. I installed this pump but after reading their requirements. If I didn't have a hard time starting my truck I would send this pump back. Another good tip, but these original pumps can actually turn on and pump fuel, but the fuel pressure is not ideal, resulting in difficult starting diesels. After installing the Airtex pump, the fuel pressure is back and now my 99 F350 starts just as well as when it was new. That means it would be a good idea to swap out those pumps before you end up spending thousands of dollars on a specific subsystem (glow plugs, batteries, starter, etc.). I plan on replacing the pump for about 60,000 as a service item as the price of these pumps is cheap now compared to 10 years ago.

Pros

Cons
  • poorly designed
