My dog takes numerous medications and vitamins that I usually put in teaspoons of patty. It's not a pie, as far as I've known since 1992. I tried this food because the manufacturer I'm using is out of stock right now. After I mixed the pie with liquid, it turned into a thick paste. I can't use this to distribute drugs. Purina must accurately describe the product. It's only a 13 ounce can, I usually buy 15 ounce cans. So if you think you are buying a product that is at best 9oz half mash as they claim. ?PATE? You definitely don't get a 13-ounce jar of pie with 4 ounces of liquid. The price is too expensive for what they pay in the bank. My guess is that if your dogs love soup, that might be fine as long as you're willing to pay higher prices for less food. My 75-pound Pit Beagle mix certainly didn't take any medicine with the soup.
