I bought these to fit a 2011 commuter as a "direct replacement" for the stock electronically damped shock absorbers. The processing quality does not correspond to the original. The spring retainer plate is not welded, but is instead held in place by a retaining ring, allowing the plate to move under the weight of the spring and vehicle, which can be dangerous. I wanted to save money since the Suburban has about 140,000 miles on it and the front and rear OEM shocks will cost about $1800 for parts only. I decided to remove the autoride system and use KYB monomax shocks instead, which saved me more money and improved the ride quality.
