Bought to replace an old Javelin Pro thermometer that accidentally melted when I left it too close to the grill. Right out of the box it was absolutely accurate, no need to calibrate it. I tested it in ice water and boiling water, it read the temperature very quickly. The backlit display is easy to read. The battery pack is also a good option. Since this is a tool that's only used for a few seconds at a time, battery life and charging shouldn't be an issue. Overall I like this instant read thermometer from Inkbird. It easily compares to more expensive thermometers but at a fraction of the price. This is used extensively in grilling and grilling.
