Tender Battery 12V 5A DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF LEFT UNATTENDED, FIRE COULD RESULT Car battery. The Battery Tender was solid orange-red when I last looked after about 20 minutes of charging. I took a nap and came back a few hours later to find the green box was blinking to indicate the battery was fully charged but felt very hot. I immediately removed the battery. When I next tried to charge the battery it was just blinking orange/red which means the battery was not powering my battery. The alligator clips didn't work either, so I bought a new pair with the same 7.5 amp fuse as before. After trying out the new crocodile work clips, I noticed a burning smell coming from the 5 amp battery. I quickly removed the 5 amp charger and set it aside. I then tried a 1.25 amp cordless tender using the same alligator clip and it showed a consistent orange/red color and worked as intended. I have used a 5 amp tender ONCE and have come to the conclusion that it is not only junk of terrible quality but also very dangerous. If users are expected to stop charging immediately after the battery is fully charged, I would argue that this is a ridiculous expectation on the part of the company.
