I was able to flush the filter in about 5 minutes and it was easy to install. I was worried I might need some gear but I couldn't just use the fridge hose in the push fit and I used a brass threaded insert for the umbilical hose no problem. I even just screwed it to the wall to avoid touching the floor. I had to mount it on the side as my fridge is attached to the back wall and there was no space in the back. I saw another reviewer put the filter in an upstairs cupboard, I liked the idea, for access and whatnot, but I think this filter should last 3-5 years so don't worry. I did a little taste test and it seemed great, I had a new filter in the fridge but it's tiny and not that good, with both my ice cream should be clear and tastier, as should the water.
