Review on Wera Kraftform Kompakt Ratcheting Screwdriver by Brian Wesley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best ratchet screwdrivers I've ever used.

Wera! You damn well did everything right! * This screwdriver is very durable in hand. * The ratchet mechanism is very strong, most likely an all metal construction. * Of course I treat this instrument like a child and oil it, including the beats. Most tools and attachments will rust if exposed to moisture. Better get ahead of the service and the tool will return your loyalty and reliability. I expect this tool to last at least ten years, maybe longer. until you try and go beyond his rank. * I love the tactile and audible feedback. I work in construction and need to hear clicks. This shows that the screw is tight and has not snapped off. *I turned the screws by hand, so yes. I need to hear clicks. If the clicks slow down, it means I need to reduce the force to the sensitive setting as soon as possible*. People complain that the handle is too small. But I prefer this design because I can place the stylus in the groove of my palm and use relaxed finger and wrist movements to begin applying, then switch to a King Kong grip and twist very slowly and listen intently for clicks (screwdriver tip located on the back of the palms, like holding a motorcycle grip). I screw tight and maybe a click when I feel the screw is ready to turn a little further. If the screw won't turn, I leave it alone. I never force Also, I don't want to flatten the copper wire. If you breathe in that much, you're not an electrician. At first I wasn't sure if the bit would stay in the screwdriver because I've had situations where the bit from my 11-in-1 screwdriver would get stuck on the screw and come loose from the screwdriver. Very inconvenient, especially in hard-to-reach places. So disappointing. But not with a Wera ratchet wrench. * The magnet is strong as I like. I'd rather put a little effort in getting the bit out than have the bit slip out at a horrible moment. for example in hard-to-reach places. Obviously I don't use these torque free screwdrivers in panel boxes because unless the screws on the sockets are perfectly tightened (although you definitely don't want loose connections), it's not serious. But in the panel it's super super serious. I will not service or install any panel without a calibrated torque wrench. And I did the math, it's cheaper to go to a calibration store and spend $50 to $100 every year than to buy a torque tester that costs thousands of dollars. I mean how long do you think you'll be working in the field? Excellent Wera tool. You have done a great job on this.
