Although the only written review (at the time) was negative, I chose this knitting needle set because the price was too tempting to pass up. (I bought a 32 inch set); I wanted to convince myself of the quality. I have a lot of circular needles but I plan on teaching others to knit so I figured a set like this would be good to have on hand as it indicates a good starter set. I just received my order and dealt with it immediately. a skein of cotton yarn to try. Even before I opened the package, I could see that the size was marked (contrary to the negative review above). But even if it doesn't, I keep a sizing tool handy so I need to be sure I have a size I can check for myself. The price I paid for this set is equal to or less than the price I paid for just one branded circular needle (of which I have many) from a local manufacturer. craft shops and I have no hesitation in saying I LOVE them more than some of them, mostly because of the string that connects them. The main detail I really like about them is the flexibility of the cord that connects the needles. This detail is the main reason I bought new needles as the above ones that I bought from my local hobby store have a cord that is fully tied and twisted; the stiffness makes it almost impossible to straighten, which causes great difficulty in knitting. The soft connectors on these needles, on the other hand, are fantastic; They are mostly straight and soft so they bend and straighten out easily so I no longer have trouble knitting the ones I am testing. The needles themselves are smooth with good points. Cotton yarn snags a little on them, but I imagine they work for silkier yarns that tend to slip off metal needles too easily. As such, I see these bamboo needles as particularly useful for beginners, but also for more experienced knitters who want a bit of resistance for silky, slippery yarns. To be honest I don't see any cons with these needles and for the current price this is an AWESOME deal; They are a great gift for knitting lovers.
