Review on Stainless Colander Strainer Straining Vegetables by Janet Edwards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for my purpose

If you are buying a general kitchen use strainer I would suggest you look into something other than these strainers. I found it very difficult to scrape leftover food off the mesh and in particular due to the lack of handles it would be a poor choice. A hanger is included, but it's definitely NOT strong enough to lift when loaded. Micro-perforated screens do not pose such a problem when cleaning and I recommend them in place of the screen. I have now bought them to use in my homemade fountain. I rotated it (after cutting a hole for the water line to pass through) onto the actual pump at the bottom of the wells to prevent debris from clogging the pump. My fountains are used as a water source for birds (and a surprising number of bees), so I keep them under trees so they get some shade. Trees shed flowers throughout the summer and shed leaves in the fall. I hope they act as a filter so my pump lasts longer. Time will tell if the stainless steel is of good quality. To be honest I expect it to rust when I drain the fountain for cleaning next month. I'll try to remember to come back with an update after I know how well they've held up.
