I love the look of this grille insert! I think it really completes the front of my jeep. You can no longer see the radiator through the hole. It's a lot thinner than the plastic inserts with the ridge around them, and this one is steel. I'm a pretty nifty guy, but I actually made a few mistakes installing this. I think it seemed easy, so I just didn't pay enough attention to it. The first mistake was installing the first bottom screw. I drilled the hole too close to the edge of the "pocket" which didn't leave enough room for the screw head. I widened the hole a little and finally mounted it without a washer. As other reviewers have said, the bottom two screws should be longer and that would help a lot! The second mistake was underestimating how hard the support rods should be pushing the mesh against the grid. Lying on the floor in the garage, everything seemed fine. But when I reinstalled the grille, it rattled when I hit the grille. Not very good so I re-drilled the top mounting holes as you can see in the second photo. You can also see that the trellis isn't quite tight against the top due to the support brace. It's okay, I just didn't quite expect it. You can also see the length of the screw in the picture, it's great for the top holes so the screw doesn't protrude, but not for the bottom ones. So I love the insert and would buy it again, but I have to deduct a star for the installation. I hope this helps someone get the installation done better.
