First of all measure up! 78 inches isn't as wide as it sounds, especially if you want top-to-bottom, side-to-side coverage lol. This is a plastic/vinyl roll. There's no glue on it at all. a bit of texture on it, on the other hand there is none. It can be easily cut with household scissors. I used a planer knife and ruler for my first cut, then found I didn't need that much and made the rest of the cuts by sliding the scissors along the crease and trimming it easily. Suppose you have a spray bottle full of water, the way water sticks to glass. I didn't realize that and of course I couldn't find an empty spray bottle. So I took a glass of water, dipped my fingers in it and splashed water on the glass, then rubbed it on my hand which is wetting the glass. It worked fine. I thought you might see water or something, but you can T. You use so little water it's not even noticeable. Then you peel off the backing, place it on the water soaked glass, and I used a wallpaper cutter/jack knife. e thing to smooth it. Since there is no glue, bubbles are not a problem, they just slide out. If you bent it, you can just take it off and do it again, rearranging it was no problem at all. I removed the old curtains before painting the room. New curtains were ordered back leaving my windows open. Before painting, I patched the holes in the old lampshade, so we're a bit confused. I have this to add some privacy to this room while waiting for the new shades to arrive. When I realized it wasn't enough for full coverage I just placed this material right in the middle of the window and it works great providing privacy without blocking the light while waiting for new shades to arrive.
