I installed them on a hope box with a lid that can weigh 5 pounds and is about 36 inches in diameter. While they're not difficult to install, they do require a bit more force than just your average hinge. It would be nice if they actually did close softly as advertised, but once the hinge mechanism starts to fold to close the lid, it falls free when closed. . as expected but I adjusted them to size and even tried moving the hinges to see if I could find that sweet spot but after a few unnecessary chest holes I stopped and decided not to use them further damage. There is a way to install these loops and get them working properly, but it's not in the average person's guide and it's very frustrating to damage what you're wearing by making them move . pt to make them work properly.
