This filter material is great! I bought my first pack from a local fish shop a few months ago and now that it's time for a change I've decided to stick with the same brand. Buying in multiple packs here is way cheaper than each LFS! I was recommended this brand for use in my Azoo Mignon 60 filter and while I have to trim the foam a bit to fit it I still couldn't be happier with it. It does the job wonderfully! I would definitely recommend this medium even if you don't use Aqua Clear filters. You can even see good bacterial cultures building up on it - this yellow-brown material that builds up over time isn't just aquarium debris. However, to take full advantage of the bacterial culture in your filter, combine the sponge with Biomax by Aqua Clear! I believe the Aqua Clear brand was recently acquired by Fluval. I saw the new packaging with the Fluval logo claiming it's the same as Aqua Clear. So if you can't find it online but see the Fluval products in your LFS, it's probably the same thing.
