I am not a professional carpenter but I love designing and making useful things for my wife and children. My wife's current computer desk is the ubiquitous glass-topped corner desk with two tempered glass tops that are 35-1/2 inches long and 23-1/2 inches wide. The legs are made of very thin-walled metal, which weakens over time and causes the table to wobble. Hence the need for a new table and the ability to create it. I love the look of furniture grade plywood and have used it in the past with great success. I drew a simple desk that reuses two sheets of glass from her existing desk (we still have three small kids and two teens who spill). The table must be strong but light enough for my beloved wife to be able to move it herself. It must also be decomposable. That's where these wonderful reusable fasteners fill the need. They are well made and strong enough to prevent the tight butt joint from bending or wobbling.
