I don't know what the other reviewers have to say about the plastic left behind. I shot 1000's of them into a picket fence and 2x4 backing (only 2 inches thick) and these nails worked great. I set the compressor to about 60 pounds and the head of these nails sank a little below the surface of the picket fence with not a single point protruding through the backing. I have not yet seen plastic residue on nails or nail heads. I screwed picket fences and about three sections into an 8 foot tall fence, I said forget it, and switched to these nails with a nail gun. Wow! Doesn't matter. Speeded up the project by about 30 minutes per section (including measuring and cutting each picket fence). Recommend them for fence projects. Just ordered a second box for 3000. Yes. This is a LARGE and LONG fence.
