This Faberware cast iron grill press is strong and heavy (weighs almost 3 pounds). Solid cast iron so it can get very hot and I've found it works best if I preheat it in my grill while my grill is heating up and trying to reach my target starting temperature for my grill. Few uses for this grill press, not just for hamburger patties; I also use it to press bacon into the pan and press whole or half chickens when I'm grilling them. Overall I am very happy with this item, I have nothing bad to say about it. It works as expected and I have a feeling it will last a long time. You should look after it the same way you would any other cast iron cookware, but it should also be "right". Made in China but this is at least backed by a recognizable brand so I have less to worry about the integrity of this cookware and can also expect better after sale customer service.
