Simple and easy to use, shape is better for hamburgers than bacon

It's quite small but great for hamburgers, small steaks and bacon when fried a little. It's round and about the size of a very large burger. I would just assume the pressing surface is flat, but it has gratings that make cleaning a bit difficult. It can help with grill marks if you put it on a flat grill and it gets very hot. Although it's small, it doesn't take up much space. It cannot be washed in the dishwasher - the pressed hob is cast iron and will rust. It's heavy enough to push through a

Great press, easy to use

I have this Farberware cast iron grill press 5275077 for use in an outside pan for frying hamburgers, bacon and steaks. It's very sturdy, a nice weight - not too light, not too heavy, and feels like it'll last a long time. This is exactly what I was looking for, especially to work with my burgers. (By the way, when working with smash burgers, it helps a lot if you use a piece of parchment paper between the hamburger and the press to keep the meat from sticking to the press. It makes life a lot…

Powerful, functional, reasonably priced

This Faberware cast iron grill press is strong and heavy (weighs almost 3 pounds). Solid cast iron so it can get very hot and I've found it works best if I preheat it in my grill while my grill is heating up and trying to reach my target starting temperature for my grill. Few uses for this grill press, not just for hamburger patties; I also use it to press bacon into the pan and press whole or half chickens when I'm grilling them. Overall I am very happy with this item, I have nothing bad to…

THE PERFECT GRILL PRESS FOR BURGERS AND MORE

I tried this grill press last night and the burgers came out perfect. At just under 3 pounds, it's heavy enough to get the job done without flattening the burgers too much or squeezing out all the juices. The ribbed base leaves nice, even grill marks on anything you cook, not just hamburgers. They are also great for cooking boneless chicken breasts, pork chops, grilled sandwiches, etc. and will prevent the bacon from curling while frying. Once properly seasoned, cast iron is easy to maintain…

2 lb 11.5 oz cast iron, ready to keep your hamburgers pressed

What can I say? This is a burger press. Such presses are outdated. There's a reason they still make them and that's because they do their job. If you like flatter burgers and fewer meatballs, you either need to make them very thin to begin with, or you can use a hamburger press. You can now find hamburger presses in both stainless steel and golden cast iron. Stainless steel is easier to care for (dishwasher safe), but cast iron burger presses tend to be a lot heavier, meaning you'll be putting…

Large full size burger press; Slider Press failed

There's nothing I love more than a homemade grilled hamburger. I usually do what most people do, which is split a packet of ground beef and roll it into patties. I was excited to try this press so I could make consistent sized burgers to make it easier to cook them to the degree of doneness I wanted. The full size burger press worked great! The press can make patties up to 8 ounces, but 5-6 ounce patties seem to work best for the preparation and preferred serving size. As much as I love the…

The press is badly formed, that's it. The cast iron handle sucks.

- Made in China - Doesn't say it's pre-tempered but any cast iron you should always top it up yourself Fairly heavy but lame manufacturing flaws make it less than useful. The design issue is also confusing. Cast iron handle. Oh well. Most of them made in the last 50 years have thick wooden handles. Much easier to use as it doesn't get hot. Easier to clean as it is not affected by spices. Seasoning the pen is also just stupid, then what you think it is becomes dirty. Production wise, her casting

Finally no more plastic in the iron pan

My husband has a strange attitude towards life. Sometimes I can stand it, sometimes not. One of the things I can't stand is him putting heavy plastic objects in the cast iron skillet so he can press his toast into the pan for even heat. I HAD to get a cast iron press before I lost it along with her. Just take a look. HOW IT'S MADE It comes in a small box and looks like it could be pre-seasoned, but we seasoned it anyway. IT'S HARD? It's heavy enough to press on burgers and even hold toast in…

  • Quick guide

I have always hand prepared our burgers to grill at home, usually using about eight 1/3 pound patties cook It takes a while, and the sizes aren't always exactly proportional or evenly shaped, so they can cook unevenly if I'm not careful. I decided to try this hamburger press to see how well it works and if it helps or not. I'm happy to report that it actually helped me a bit. This press allows me to make perfectly shaped hamburger patties of the same size/weight/shape very quickly and it has…
