i tried pouring concrete in a hole but didn't work. I found this item. with a heavy hammer, you just pound it into the ground where there is a hard dirt base, slide in the umbrella and it withstands wind. Love this item. When it rains and ground gets moist, i just move it a few inches to a more solid base and it's perfect!
