After carefully researching the options I really wanted some level of factory integration for Bluetooth. I was hoping my 2011 Mini would be new enough to only listen to music over Bluetooth. Unfortunately for some reason Mini didn't want you to be able to do this despite supporting Bluetooth calls for YEARS! While the sound quality is excellent, in all other respects this device just falls apart. I break it down into pros and cons: Pros: 1. Excellent sound quality. I can't tell the difference between plugging an extra cable directly into the phone. Cons: 1. First we remove the WORST. You might think that it turns off when the car turns off and turns on when your car starts, like a 12V socket. Your phone stays connected. Later, when you walk past your car and the key hasn't gone to sleep, your phone may try to connect and it will disconnect and reconnect as you get closer and further away from your car. It makes it worse! 2. It only takes up your car's USB port.3. My mini didn't recognize ANYTHING via USB, that's the point of spending so much money. There was no way to integrate it with the standard mini music system that would allow for steering control etc. I'm not sure how other people with BMWs and Minis would see this thing in their cars. My Mini just doesn't see it at all.4. Sometimes my phone couldn't see Bovee at all. I would have to disconnect and reconnect it for it to connect. Bottom Line: Why spend so much money to have something worse than just an aux port? In any case, you need to connect via Aux. I recommend spending WAY less money on a device like the ROAV. I just hooked it up and it's PERFECT for use in minis. For a fraction of the price, it also features smart, fast-charging USB ports. It disconnects from the car so your phone doesn't randomly try to connect when you don't want it to. With a short, right-angle aux cable, it's a lot less messy than the Bovee. ROAV turns on when you start the car, your phone connects like a factory car, and it even has convenient and durable buttons to skip songs and pause. If your car is like my Mini, these buttons are conveniently located just below your stereo as that's where the 12v socket is! 100% NOT recommended.
