Good stones, but need to be cleaned a bit before putting them into the aquarium

I like these stones very much. I used them in my aquarium. These are larger (1 to 2 inch) stones. They have a nice smooth sheen. I would say these are not real river stones. I collect rocks and I have some real river rocks that look more like they came from a rock fall than were smoothed by the river. I've done acrobatics myself, so I'm very familiar with the process. If you take the time to feel the stones, they have a slippery coating that was likely polished by the tumbling process. If you put them in an aquarium, they should be rinsed first to remove the wax coating. There are many ways to do this, but I like to use boiling water, distilled white vinegar, and stir to remove. I did this about 1/3 a bag at a time to make it easier. Find something that can handle hot water and rocks. Put stones in it and add boiling water and vinegar. I like to leave it on for a few minutes. Then start shaking the stones around. You may notice a ring of wax forming around the waterline of the container. When the water starts to cool, rinse it out with a fart. I had to do this a few times per batch to get all the polish off. Although these stones took a little time to clean, I like them and would buy them again. However, if you are looking for something that can be placed directly in the aquarium, I would not take them. I'm not sure if the coating will harm your fish, but personally I don't want to risk it.
