The microphone worked much better than our previous webcam, but the camera takes very dark pictures. I was curious to see what the images would look like with the lights on as we hadn't previously equipped a webcam with this. I was surprised to see that the photos were very dark in the brightest light. Our previous camera had no light and the images were quite bright, but this one takes images that are undetectable due to its darkness. My child's teachers complain that they can't see his assignment when he needs to share photos. Natural light brightens photos and videos much more. So if you can only use it by a window during the day, no problem.
