These devices are suitable for a coffee table or a glove compartment. The eyecups have a very low lift, so wearers of glasses should be careful. They also don't gather light, and I wonder if that's because they aren't "completely covered" but just "layered". There's a difference. Colors balance and appear dull, and the pair I received (which I'm trying to return) are a little blurry visually. In general, there are probably better options. I'm generally a Celestron fan. My 8x42s are excellent, better than most well-known mid-range brands. So I took a chance on having it as a lightweight pocket device to travel with and have on hand. I'll have to keep looking as the optical quality doesn't live up to my expectations. IMO those are $20-$25 binoculars.
