Review on Dorman 56102 Driver Heated Plastic by Kenji Townsend

I went to Ford and was told I had no heat in the mirror because both mirrors were broken. I could understand one leaving but not both. They would have cost $500 to replace if the plastic hadn't broken when they tried to take them off! Decided to look for alternatives. Dorman is perfect. The mirror itself is a little less bright, but everything about it is similar to the original. The exchange takes 10 minutes. After the Ford mechanic said he wasn't sure if he could remove the mirror without damaging the bracket, I was a little hesitant to stick the screwdriver behind the mirror and start sliding. It was a leap of faith, but a simple process that worked seamlessly. The instructions that came with the mirrors are clear, with pictures and all the information you need. DON'T PAY FORD $500 for this simple solution. It has to be a better product than what Ford is selling. Both mirrors failed in less than 5 years!
