Review on Chef King Gauge Steel Griddle by Todd Gill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy, heavy, works great.

I bought this product to use on a glass surface. It's not designed for that, so it warps during the cooking process. I have 5 burners on a glass plate so the eyes below are not evenly aligned. I can't deduct a single star for that because it's my cooker's fault, not the product. I'm willing to bet it would be ok if it sat evenly on 4 burners. As it cools, it almost returns to the flat position. I'd say it's a thick, solid piece of metal. The grip is great. It seasons slightly depending on the destination. And if that's not clear to you, there are countless videos on YouTube. I bought this for one main reason, to make a Japanese steakhouse with rice, veggies, and teriyaki chicken for a family of 5. It will be done. I have bought pan utensils, tapping and turning things for my kids and they love it. I can cut right on it, sand it, and then I bought a dish scraper and it just rubs off into a paper towel. Sometimes I add some water, that helps too. Before you start cooking pancakes and other temperature-sensitive things in it, I suggest you figure out your hotspots and explore your custom pan, otherwise you won't like it. I used it on a garden fire. Worked great. I would take this with me if I go on a hike where I parked my car. I would never take it on a hike because of the weight. I highly recommend this product.
