Fundamentally flawed design - broke when drilling the third hole

Countersink #8 broke while drilling the third hole in a 1" x 6" piece of Douglas fir. I had to use Vise-Grip pliers to remove the drill bit. A conical screw bit design pulls the countersink into the wood at an uncontrolled rate, and the momentum created when the bit hits the wood shears the bit. Quick-change hex shank. If a conventional twist drill was used, as is common with other countersink drill sets, this would probably never have happened. I've used a relatively inexpensive set of 4 Stanley countersink bits for years and none of them have ever broken. They're not that sharp anymore, so I went in search of a replacement. I chose this set of countersinks because they have four bits instead of the usual two. However, using a conical drill renders the product unusable because it
