I have an adhesive allergy, and I have a g-tube. This is not the best of combinations. After I was switched from a button to a dangler, I had to find a way to secure the length of tubing.I do need to pre-treat my skin with a barrier product before I put this on though. I use Skin-Tac, and don’t have a problem with blistering or itching.Right now I’m using the size medium, but the large would actually be better due to the diameter of my tubing. It’s a 24fr. (SEE UPDATE BELOW ABOUT THIS!) My tube is the largest of french sizes a medium will accommodate, and maybe due to the tension on the strap that fits over top, I sometimes have problems keeping it stuck down for multiple days. So, I reinforce both ends with a layer of Hypafix. When I don’t do this, it tends to buckle up and lift off of my skin in the center after a day or so. Anyone who has a more common size wouldn’t have an issue with this.Using this product has made my life so much easier! I’ve struggled with hypergranulation tissue, and the main trigger in my case is friction from g-tube movement. Now it stays secure, and my stoma looks just perfect. No bleeding, no goo.Inside, under the little tab, there are sticky strips that grip the tube from its top and underside so it can’t slide around in the "holster”. I’ve noticed the more I lift and then replace the strap, the sticky part isn’t so sticky anymore, so I try to position it to where I can leave it in place without lifting as few times as I can. If I get it just right, meals can flow by only undoing the clamp on my tube.Happily, Medicare covers these, and I get a few along with my other monthly feeding tube supplies from the DME.The photo I added with this review is of one my daughter decorated for me. She was in for a visit, and we had a fun afternoon making some look a little less "medical” with acrylic paint markers. The designs hold up just fine through showering and daily wear. The Velcro is great, I don’t have problems with snagging fabric of my clothing.UPDATE 🙂. I found the key to it staying stuck for multiple days (oddly enough) is dependent on where I apply the Grip-Lok. If I stick it lower on my abdomen instead of at my waist, my skin isn’t constantly stretching with just normal daily movement. It’s odd, but it seems to be true. I didn’t need to go up to a size large after all. I also tried a medium wide, it looks the same as the medium, and the velcro is the same, but the silicone tape in the center section is wider. .
