Review on ๐Ÿšด NiteRider Handlebar Clampmount: Illuminate Your Ride with Lumina or Mako Series! by Andy Metzger

Very secure bike mount

I have a NiteRider light and with the handlebar mount I was always wondering if it could fall off. Or he kept leaning down with every punch I landed. I decided to see if I could find a safer way to keep the light on the steering wheel and after some searching I found this. So far it seems to be working quite well. There was a time right after purchasing it that I was sure it wasn't going to work. The included rubber pad is very thick and allows the mount to press against the smaller handlebars very securely and very effectively. However, the spacer is too thick to use with the oversized handlebars I currently have. I tried using the gasket from the original bracket but even that was too thick. I finally gave up the gasket idea altogether one day and just clamped this thing down with no gasket. Voila! It worked. I had to press it down fairly hard to keep it from slipping/tipping when the lights were on. But I was able to find a tension that worked well enough without thinking I was endangering my handlebars. So far it has held up excellently and held my lantern securely without tipping over. I'd give five starts if it weren't for the simple fact that I'd have to forego padding entirely on the oversized handlebars. Using a spacer would have helped me feel better about the friction holding it in place and also prevented scratches on my handlebar fairing. As such, it works well and is suitable, if only.
