Review on Tormek SP 650 Stone Grading Tool by James Stjames

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Also works on the Grizzly Water grinding wheel!

I have a grizzly grinder and I don't know if the grizzly accessory will work on a rock grader, but I didn't want to risk my assessment of the feasibility of such a trick on a budget grader. I figured a Tormek grader might be worth the extra money over a Grizzly grader if it works. Yes, it really works. I don't think it will turn a 250 grit stone into a 1000 grit stone as claimed, but it does result in a finer finish after using the fine side of the grader on a wheel for 15-20 seconds and it isn't additional calibration time required. This seems to lead to further improvement in polishing. (Looking at the edge of the blade through a handheld lens, I think the finish is probably somewhere with 400-500 grit sandpaper, which is pretty nice.) The rough side of the grader also works as advertised and restores a faster cutting action here. to the wheel. The grader doesn't seem to use much of the wheel when shifting back and forth.
