Appears to be well made. The holding mechanism works by gravity: the weight of the phone on the middle arm pulls the side arms inwards. The mounts feel sturdy (maybe aluminum?) and everything works effortlessly. My iPhone XR stays in place and the CD tray doesn't take up space in my window. I like it a lot more than the clamp/ratchet mechanisms that are common these days. The problem with these other mechanisms is that they rely on cheap plastic gears that can be easily removed and the clips can become misaligned or sticky. The CD slot mount attaches very quickly and my phone doesn't take up space on the windshield. I used to mount my phone to a dash or window, but mounting via a CD slot is a lot cleaner than using suction cups and sticky glue. The view is closer to the street view, but I had no problems with this position.
