Gray silicone has an adhesive layer covered with a red foil. The adhesive adheres better to the red foil than to the silicone. Therefore it is not possible to remove the red stripe to reveal the adhesive. The glue comes off with a red film. If there's a specific technique I'll be happy to hear. But I've tried using the Optivisor, Xacto knife and tweezers to get the red foil to peel away from the adhesive backing and stay on the gray silicone and I haven't been able to.
