You definitely need to use Pam or a swipe of oil before baking in this.The pan weighs nothing, but is still stiff enough to hold its shape and not spill the batter. Baking was fine as well - no trouble with the hot oven and it cooled fast. We threw it in the dishwasher and it was just fine.
