NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT! The software is poorly designed and contains many bugs. It worked (slowly) for a while and then suddenly it just stopped. Let me explain the basic setup. The Neat software is designed so that you have the Neat desktop program that you can open and run. They scan receipts and can edit information. You then need to sync it to Neat Cloud, which is essentially an online mirror of the desktop software. From Neat Cloud you can then send these receipts to Quickbooks. Now when you send files to Quickbooks, they will be blocked in Neat Cloud. You will NEVER be able to edit or unlock them without even diving into the menu. It's designed so you don't have that option! I understand that this makes it difficult for users to accidentally duplicate data that has already been submitted, but DO YOUR users EDIT their own data completely? Here the fun part begins. After entering about a thousand documents, syncing with Neat Cloud suddenly stopped. Every time I tried it asked me "Would you like to turn on syncing?" then ask me to sign in. I entered my password and clicked save. The box disappears, but nothing changes. When I try to sync it just asks me to sign in again. Well, I still had about 105 documents on Neat Cloud that I hadn't submitted to Quickbooks, so I decided to submit them. I selected all but one on the first page (ie 99 items) and hit submit. Nothing happened, he just sat there, side blacked out. I refreshed it after about 10 minutes (sometimes the page just freezes and files are sent/locked on refresh) and the files weren't locked so they didn't get through. Tried again, same result. I just selected and sent two files. After 2.5 minutes I get the confirmation "Your files have been sent", finally it worked. I'm down to 4 files and trying to send, nothing after 10 minutes. Update and they will not be blocked. I quickly check Quickbooks and Low and see that Neat Cloud has sent my receipts SEVERAL TIMES! (so much for avoiding duplicates) Now I have to comb through 450 receipts looking for 100+ duplicates, manually deleting them each time. And the desktop still doesn't sync to Neat Cloud. I struggled to set it up at first as it's not very intuitive, but I blamed all the problems on the learning curve. Now I wish I had never bought this and spent so many hours on it. UPDATE: So the sync issue was fixed by paying to upgrade to Neat's premium cloud service ($14.99/month). I'm glad to know that if I want to keep using this scanner for Quickbooks on the web, I'll have to pay a monthly fee. However, the blocking problem has not gone away. He submitted 43 articles to Quickbooks but didn't block them in Neat Cloud. Even with negative amounts (credits), these files were shown as "locked" as if counted in Quickbooks. Now I can't send it to Quickbooks, I get an error saying it can't be less than 0. That's good to know, because it seems like she was CONSTANTLY blocking those files BUT THEY NEVER ACTUALLY SENT and he didn't tell me about it. At this point, I'm not sure if I want my money back or the pleasure of smashing that piece of junk with a baseball bat.
