Review on Discontinued Canon EOS 50D DSLR Camera Body for Sale by Ojasvi Shahas ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good product, more pros than cons.

I bought it as a second camera for leisurely photo shoots, for 85II and 135. And Canon advertises it that way. Before buying, I read all the reviews about R and the technical branches r6 and r5, with reviews from former owners. I don’t feel delighted with the purchase, the camera is good with amateur control. It is necessary to understand, stupidly remember to automatism and shoot. I am satisfied with the purchase. I agree with the opinion that photography depends on the photographer, less on the lens and less on the camera. I wish you all self-improvement and successful photos. There was an idea to take RP because of a similar focus, save 36t. R. But an exclusive small battery (you have to buy two, but they only come with charging - they said in the store) and a shutter speed of 1/4000 (requires an ND filter for shooting outdoors) will take half of the savings. And a weaker processor, matrix, display and other masterly castrated camera functions nullify all the savings... Having shot on R-ku for a couple more months, I want to add that the camera pleases. Superbly focuses on the eyes on the street, a little worse indoors. But I constantly lose focus in my eyes on other focus areas. The switch is assigned to the multifunction panel. Probably this is the problem. You have to constantly adjust. Satisfied with the price, focusing accuracy and annoyed by the convenience of the menu and amateur camera settings.

Pros
  • Specifications. Price. In early November, with a Chinese adapter, I took R-ku for 109.5 acceptable. Yesterday they were already sold for 119.5. Autofocus is better than on the second penny. But the topic of autofocus is classified by the company. They will never say that each new system is better than the previous one by 5-10 percent (perhaps even less) - sales will fall. In the technical branch of the R5, not everyone praises the new autofocus. Canon can please us with their improvements for a long time .. It is possible to focus on a point selected on the screen. Before buying, they strained the revelations of the owners, who wrote that they had forgotten and did not remember how to focus on the central point ... Interchangeable batteries with nickels. When turned off, the camera retracts the proboscis of the lens (85ii). Nicely.
Cons
  • The ill-fated one hundred grams of weight (some people put it as a plus), removing convenient control dials, buttons for frequently used functions and an informative display (the second part is visible only after pressing the button) like on nickels. Focus on the eyes is good if at least one eye is looking into the lens! And if the model is drawing, reading, or turning her head, then the focus can be anywhere. It is necessary to press the screen with your finger (where the head of the model is). The focus will try to focus in this area, you need to crop it slowly, press the shutter button and the focus flies wherever it wants again ... It's better to switch to the point (I have eight presses of two buttons programmed). We could do it with one button in one click, but at the amateur level, the owner must always feel the inferiority of the camera. Video. Why does a photographer need a video? For me - "money down the drain." It is possible to program some buttons for other functions. It seems good, but it does not add much to the speed of control.
