Here is a thin one. I've done quite a bit of research on this filter. I have used genuine Ford filters in the past as tests have shown that they are very well made and do their job perfectly. After reviewing several independent air filter reviews, I found that the WIX air filter outperformed all others in several categories. With this information I decided to find a suitable one for my F150. I found this (49883) at Revain but was told it didn't fit my truck. After further research, I found that this part number really does match my truck. To be sure, I double-checked the part number and finally ordered. When it arrived I found it was actually the right size but twice as thick. It fitted the airbox perfectly, but the gasket was a bit thicker than the factory one. I didn't find this a problem as the lid fitted well but was a little tighter than before. Please note that the gasket compresses and creates a perfect seal. The fact that the media is twice the thickness of the factory media means it performs better, lasts longer and offers higher CFM flow. The most interesting thing is that it is cheaper than the Ford filter! That being said I recommend this filter to anyone with a 5.0 F150 as it is an improvement and more affordable.
