later. So I know this is a new remote and will work with my VIZIO TVs. I needed a replacement because we lost one for the 50" VIZIO. The 55" VIZIO's remote control was broken because it was ripped to pieces by the black lab we had. At any rate, it looks im Looks pretty much the same as the remote that originally came with the TV, except there's no VIZIO logo in the middle that you press when setting up (it's the "OK" button.) My really big problem we This new remote control is that it was so hard to open it to put the damn batteries in. I couldn't open it. Eventually my husband did but I think he broke a piece off the side when he tried to open it.I know they should be tight when new but not so tight that they can't be opened without breaking. He had to put everything back together before putting the batteries and the lid in could put it back on. I don't know who this remote control connections, but that should never be a problem. They definitely don't obey the laws for Americans with disabilities. Someone with arthritis will most likely not be able to open it at all, like in my case. I know these remotes are a bit more expensive if you buy directly from VIZIO. If I need to replace another remote control I think next time I will go to them first for a replacement when we still have our 2 VIZIO TVs. Too bad there are no universal remote controls with a menu button to call up the TV menu. We've never seen anything so difficult to open. My husband and I are very afraid of changing batteries. This remote also seems to be made out of cheaper and thinner plastic compared to the original remotes that came with the TV. This is so typical of a lot of things made in China where this remote was made. I definitely need to make things in America again. Should definitely be made of higher quality materials. I don't think this remote even passed the quality controls of the factory that made it. Again so typical of things made in China these days. When we were finally able to put the batteries in the remote and put it back together, it worked great with our TV as it should. But on the other hand I'm not complaining about how it works, my main complaint is how cheaply it's made, that it's so ridiculously difficult to open that we broke it and had to put it back together before doing it could. actually use it so we can tune the TV to free-to-air TV channels. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this remote control. It would be better to get one direct from VIZIO and hopefully they don't sell the same cheap stuff made in China.
