BLUE: Thing works! Keeps the balance of the septic tank, especially if you tend to mismanage it. Background: I first bought a house in the country. Part of living in the country is having your own septic tank and being responsible for its maintenance. I'm so used to living in a city where I can pretty much drain/dispose of detergent, bleach, old medication (I know, I know, sorry), grease, and old groceries through grinders. In any case, it was difficult to live off bad habits from the central sewer. Fast forward 2 years later when I noticed a bad smell coming from my bathroom drains (sink, toilet, etc.). I called the septic company and asked them to check my systems and they were outraged that they found what they found. My beneficial bacteria that break down solid waste were virtually non-existent. They attribute my septic tank's poor condition to my use of toilet cleaner/bleach dispenser, laundry detergent, and other "normal" daily habits I bought with me around town. Pump out the septic tank, clean it and add fresh bacteria to restore the right balance. Needless to say, $1,000 was beyond my budget and I delayed servicing for 6 months until I could save enough money on repairs. . I used it every month and started using "septic safe" cleaners and 6 months later when the septic company came back they were impressed with the change in my systems. Instead of $1,000 to drain and restart the entire system, they only charged me $200 for basic maintenance (removing sludge from my tanks). As you can read, the thing works.
