So the purpose of my hitch receiver is towing bikes. The lid is for sealing the hole when I'm not carrying bikes. I don't leave my bike rack in the car unless the bikes are towed. I have chosen not to risk the tow hitch plug remaining in place once installed, therefore a seat belt is required. The clutch cover comes with a zipper. I still have the zip tie because it's not practical for me to use it. I use picture hanging wire to secure the fork when installing. It would be nice if there was a reusable safety pin.
